My Bachelor's degree is in music education from Syracuse University. I have a Master of Music degree in composition from the University of Michigan. My last teaching position was as an instructor in music history and composition at the Interlochen Arts Academy. I am a published composer, (member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, andPublishers), harpsichord maker, church organist and Registered Piano Tuner-Technician. I have conducted choirs in Pennsylvania and Michigan. For me, the Lapeer County Concert Choir is a "Goldilocks" for me. The most recent choirs I have sung with are the Apollo Chorus of Chicago which is too big; the last church choir in which I sang was too small, but Concert Choir is just right!
Builds Harpsichords - http://vernonharpsichords.com/
I currently live a quiet life in Deerfield Township where my harpsichord shop is located and spend my time making and restoring harpsichords, composing, and reading my way through my rather extensive library. (When I am not making harpsichords in my shop, I am making book cases!)
I am divorced, but am the proud father of four children; Joy, Holly, Marian and Jonathan. My kids are scattered all over the country.
In my spare time I make and throw boomerangs and work out using patterns from Tai Kwon Do in which I have a first degree black belt. I also enjoy canoeing, camping and fly fishing.
