The Lapeer County Concert Choir

The Lapeer County Concert Choir has been performing since 1968, known for its performances of large sacred works such as Bach's "Magnificat", Handel's "Messiah", Rutter's "Requiem", and Mozart's "Regina Coeli".

As the choir moves toward its 50th year, the goal remains to promote the advancement of choral music, and reveal the healing power of voices united in song.

If you wish to join us, we rehearse on Monday nights in Lapeer at the Trinity Methodist Church.

Betty was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 35 years. She occasionally played organ there as well as primary organist for First Presbyterian Church. Betty simply loved music and sang in multiple choirs. She was known for accompanying Solo and Ensemble musicians for Almont and North Branch schools. Betty made some of her best friends while working at Lapeer General Hospital. She touched many lives in the caring positions she has held over the years. But above all else her family always knew: they were her pride and joy.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband: Edward, sons: Darin (sig. other, Lora Perry) Smith of North Branch; Bud (Thersa) Smith of Lapeer; Adam (Sheila) Smith of Otter Lake, grandchildren: Jacque (& Christian); Ty; Cassie (& Dan); Jimmy (& Bethy); Nik (& Mickaila); Tony; Alexis; Marissa; Xander, great-grandchildren: Mikkel; Jacob; Elli; Alyvia; Abigail; Kollin; Tucker, brother: Burt (Julie) Wachter, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends who were just like family. Betty was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother and her parents.

Betty’s family has entrusted Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer with cremation. A memorial service will be 11:00am Monday May 14, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lapeer. The family will receive friends from 10:00am through the service.
